Be Ready For Your Pool

Getting Ready For Your Pool

Unlike traditional pools that often require weeks to dig, pour, and cure, our shipping container pools are pre-built, allowing them to be ready for use in just one day. With the site prepped and leveled beforehand, installation is a matter of setting the pool onto the pad and running the power. This streamlined process means no lengthy construction time, so you can dive in and start enjoying your pool immediately after delivery, transforming your backyard in record time.

Our container pools are designed for quick and straightforward installation. Once delivered, all that’s needed is to set the pool on a pre-prepped pad and connect it to a power source. This efficient setup allows you to be ready for swimming the same day it arrives, minimizing downtime and making the installation process as hassle-free as possible.

Preparing the pool site before delivery

A container pool requires a stable, level base for proper support. While a concrete slab isn’t always necessary, common site preparation options include packed gravel, concrete footings, or a concrete slab. The key is ensuring that the base is solid and well-drained to prevent soil erosion and shifting over time.  Any local excavation or concrete contractor can perform this work.  It is important to vett contractors during the estimate phase.  This stable foundation ensures your container pool remains secure and level, allowing for a straightforward installation and long-lasting performance.

Delivery day- moving the pool into place

Our pools are delivered on a rollback truck for a smooth, efficient unloading process. If site conditions and space allow, the truck can back directly up to your prepared pad, using its rollback feature to self-unload the pool onto the base. This setup minimizes the need for additional equipment, ensuring a quick and hassle-free delivery and placement experience.

If the truck can't directly access the installation site, additional equipment may be needed to move the pool. Common solutions include using off-road forklifts, two uniloaders working together to transport the pool, or even hiring a crane service. We can help coordinate and plan for the necessary equipment to ensure a smooth installation process, making sure the correct methods are in place for a successful delivery and setup.

Connecting Electric

Once your container pool is set in place, it’s ready for water filling. An electrician can then connect the pool to the pre-mounted 20 amp, 110v GFCI outlet located in the pump area. With power connected, you can start the filtration system right away. This quick setup lets you enjoy your new pool on the same day, bringing convenience and simplicity to the entire installation process.

Some options like heaters, spa equipment, and salt water chlorine generators may require additional power.  If any such options are added to your build we will aid in the planning of needed circuits with your electrician.

Preparing the Perfect Base for Your Shipping Container Pool

The foundation beneath your shipping container pool is as important as the pool itself. Proper preparation ensures a stable, long-lasting, and worry-free installation. At Midwest Container Pools, we understand that no two sites are the same. Soil types and ground elevations play a critical role in determining the best approach for your pool’s base. Here’s what you need to know about preparing the ideal foundation for your shipping container pool.

Why Soil Type and Elevation Matter

The soil at your installation site significantly impacts the type of prep work required. Different soils have varying levels of stability, drainage, and load-bearing capacity. Similarly, ground elevation affects how water flows around the pool area, influencing the foundation’s longevity and performance.

For example:

  • Clay Soils: These soils tend to expand and contract with moisture levels, requiring a sturdy base to prevent shifting.
  • Sandy Soils: While offering good drainage, sandy soils may require reinforcement to ensure the pool remains level.
  • Rocky Soils: Generally stable but may need excavation and leveling to create a uniform surface.

Common Foundation Types

Based on soil type and site conditions, we typically recommend one of the following three foundation options:

Full Concrete Slab

  • Best For: Sites with unstable soils, such as clay or high water tables.
  • Benefits: Provides the most robust and level base, offering superior stability and longevity. A concrete slab is ideal for areas prone to shifting or where additional support is needed for larger pools.

Side Footings

  • Best For: Moderately stable soils with good drainage, such as sandy or loamy soils.
  • Benefits: Footings along the sides of the pool provide structural support while minimizing material and excavation costs. This option is perfect for installations where a full slab may not be necessary.

Packed Gravel Pad

  • Best For: Well-draining and stable soils with minimal risk of shifting.
  • Benefits: A gravel pad is cost-effective and provides excellent drainage, reducing the risk of water pooling around the base. This option works well for smaller pools or areas with minimal elevation changes.

Custom Solutions for Unique Sites

Every installation site has its own challenges, and our experienced team is here to evaluate your property and recommend the best foundation type. For sloped elevations or complex soil conditions, we can design custom solutions, such as reinforced retaining walls or hybrid bases that combine elements of gravel, concrete, or footings.
